!!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! , $2900, very clean exterior, 5-speed(!). I have that much money in my savings. I could go buy this right now.
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
Only possible issues are highish mileage (170k), a lack of interior pictures, and the seller vaguely states that it "needs a few things to be perfect".

You should at least go check it out / test drive

ehhh, I'd be cautious. I can't speak for the manual but I drove an automatic once, and while the engine was spectacular the rest of the car left a lot to be desired.

Oh thats easy...Your considering paying nearly $3k for an old Taurus. Let that sink in for a couple seconds.

Too bad he went all cutesy and put that Yamaha logo on there, that's a headscratcher.
Neat that it's got a 5-speed. I would expect every 90s ride to have huge mileage now. The price isn't exactly welcoming unless it's something you've always wanted.

Don't....Just Don't.

Had a '97 SHO from '97 to 2001 - totally different animal, of course - auto only, but a comfortable ride, very good cornering, decent HP from the 3.4 liter V8. A great tourer - that's where I'd put my money.

Ad missing details and pictures? Seller being vague? Might be NP, but more than likely a CP. Only NP if it is anywhere near good condition.

There are only 5 pictures and no interior ones. Definitely in the no-fly zone.

Check the clutch or ask for documentation on when it was last replaced. SHOs were notorious for burning through them.

Just google "Taurus SHO differential pin," and think about the decision as you read through your results. The MTX IV was a Mazda unit that was designed for the Vulcan in the Tempo/Topaz/Probe. It had some issues holding up when the 8000-RPM Yamaha was pulling 600 lbs more than any of those cars.

Ok, "Don't be a fool and buy something you are going to regret after you find out a high mileage, 20 yo car can't be driven like you will". That help?

That's pretty high. I bought my Silver Frost '95 in 2005 with 90k miles for $2800.
